Whiskers in the Jar (Tub Jackson 2009)

As Pete was slowly biking, the Roan and Benty mountains

He looked down into Copshaw at the famous mid square fountain

He saw there stood Tub Hedley, a saltire he was flying

I love Copshaw Holm boys was the chant that he was crying

There’s a sod, tequila, toblerone

Here comes Pete Jackson – o

With that moustache – e – o

There’s  whiskers in the jar o

So he rode into Copshaw, and this got oor Pete thinking

The people love the Tub here and the Tub he loves his drinking

This could be my big break, to make it on the telly

So he knocked back his gin and tonic and he drank it from his welly

There’s a sod, tequila, toblerone

Here comes Pete Jackson – o

With that moustache – e – o

There’s  whiskers in the jar o

Back home at the Roan farm, oor Pete had a brainwave

If the folks frae Copshaw vote for me then my moustache I will shave

Pete got fair excited, he called for his wife Linda

But his voice was so darn high he nearly shattered every winda

There’s a sod, tequila, toblerone

He loves his Galloways

On Independence Day

There’s  whiskers in the jar o

The Common Ridings now here, a funnier Tub you’ll no meet

He’ll have to swap his tractor for a bike to ride down the street

Don’t drink too much cider, or you might come a cropper

I’ve heard you’ve plenty thrust left in your massive yellow chopper

There’s a sod, tequila, toblerone

Here comes Tub Jackson – o

Shave that moustache – e – o

There’s  whiskers in the jar o
